Oil Sector
Since the embargo has been lifted, Libya plans to increase its daily oil production from the current 1.3million barrels to 3.0 million barrels over the next decade. Being the only country besides Saudi Arabia that has the natural resources for a substantial increase in its daily oil production and given the international crisis in the sector, many companies are willing to take part in what's estimated to be a $30 billion investment (source: Financial Times Mar 31st 2004) towards this direction.
